FAQ for the QICCA Arbitration Costs Calculator
The QICCA Arbitration Costs Calculator is designed to help users calculate the arbitration fees based on the amount in dispute and the number of arbitrators involved in the case. The calculator uses a predefined fee structure to provide an estimate of the costs involved in arbitration.
- Step 1: Enter the Amount in Dispute (QAR) in the input field provided.
- Step 2: Choose whether the arbitration will be handled by a Sole Arbitrator or a Panel of Three Arbitrators.
- Step 3: Click the Calculate button.
Based on your input, the plugin will display:
-
- The calculated arbitration fees, broken down into Registration Fees, Administrative Expenses, and Arbitrators’ Fees.
- If you select a Sole Arbitrator, the result will show the “1 Arbitrator Fee.”
- If you select a Panel of Three Arbitrators, the result will show the “3 Arbitrators Fee.”
- Registration Fees: A fixed fee of QAR 5,000 applies to all cases.
- Administrative Expenses: Calculated as a percentage of the amount in dispute. The percentage decreases as the dispute amount increases, based on predefined ranges.
- Arbitrators’ Fees: These fees vary based on the dispute amount and the number of arbitrators. The fee structure is tiered, meaning higher dispute amounts result in different fee calculations.
Arbitrators’ Fees:
- For a Sole Arbitrator: Fees are calculated based on fixed amounts plus percentages that vary depending on the amount in dispute.
- For a Panel of Three Arbitrators: Fees include a higher base amount and a percentage of the amount exceeding specific thresholds.
Administrative Expenses:
- Up to QAR 10,000,000: Calculated at 1% of the amount in dispute.
- For amounts exceeding QAR 10,000,000: A reduced rate of 0.75% applies to the excess amount.
The calculator is designed to handle any dispute amount by applying the relevant fee structure. For amounts exceeding the highest range, the calculator applies the final tier’s logic, ensuring accurate fee estimation.
