A group of 30 students of Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College were introduced to new legislations in commercial arbitration in Qatar during a forum organized by Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber (QC).
The students were informed about the role of QICCA and QC in the business community in the country. Sheikh Thani bin Saud al Thani, deputy chairman of Qatar Lawyers Association and QICCA board member, said the Qatari arbitration law will be issued soon as an independent and comprehensive legislation covering all the issues and topics related to commercial arbitration.
He pointed out that the draft law has been endorsed by the cabinet and waiting to be approved by HH the Emir. Sheikh Thani expected that this law will usher in a new phase that supports and promotes commercial arbitration in the country.
